Thank you for this post. I didn't know of this battle between French and British troops as part of the American Revolution. Apparently the French were concerned about the number of privateers sailing out of Jersey to harass French and American shipping. Apparently the French invasion was a disaster for them, but the leader of the British forces was killed in the battle. More than 600 French troops were captured.

It's been a while since I've been around. Glad to see you are still posting. I was on a couple of breaks for quite a while. Love the perspective of this shot. Hard to imagine it was the scene of a battle!
