Grosnez Castle

Grosnez Castle is thought to have been built in the 13th or 14th centuries. The castle is a ruin, but stands boldly on guard against the French terror that used to raid and pillage the Isle of Jersey hundreds of years ago (last attack 1781). It is said that many of the farm walls and field boundries close by include some of the castle's stones.

For Skywatch Friday.

Beautiful shot! I like the ancient rocks on the hill with the gorgeous blue-and-white sky above.

Even medieval farmers recycled.
Have a wonderful weekend!
