Lovely street but it does seem curious to have a streetlight and a planter in its middle.
I am thinking the same thing as Kay - I'd love to hear the story of how that little island came to be put in the street. A nice interpretation of the theme!
The answer surely is "traffic management" - it is the back entrance to the Jersey Pottery.
